오늘 읽은 어떤 말: 배교는 이렇게 형성된다.

-신조를 만들어 이렇게 믿으라고 요구한다.
-그 신조대로 믿는 것을 교우가 될 수 있는 조건으로 삼는다.
-그 신조를 기준으로 교우/교적 자격을 심사한다.
-그 신조대로 믿지 않는 사람을 이단으로 단죄한다.
-그렇게 단죄된 사람을 핍박하기 시작한다.

 

• “The first step of apostasy is to get up a creed, telling us what we shall believe.

• “The second is, to make that creed a test of fellowship.

• “The third is to try members by that creed.

• “The fourth to denounce as heretics those who do not believe that creed.

• “And, fifth, to commence persecution against such.”
